Speed for Sports Performance

It was great to present this 90min ‘Speed for Sports Performance’ workshop to some leading coaches at BioFit … The workshop covered the following key components:

*A mechanical vs technical analysis of sprinting (What can we influence?) *Warmups *Gait analysis *Rudiment series *Running drills (and when to use them) *Dribbles (and use for retraining the athlete) *Understanding ‘switching’ during the sprint action *Acceleration (mechanics, positions, posture, bands, sleds, drills) *Maximal velocity (mechanics, positions, posture, wickets, drills) *Transfer from gym to track (what transfers?) … Thanks to the coaches for their willingness to immerse themselves in the workshop…
